Hemali Modha is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans a range of genres and mediums, including textiles, ceramics, digital art, and painting. With a background in Fine Art and digital media, she is drawn to experimentation, constantly exploring new techniques and developing innovative processes.

Colour and process are central to her work, as she is particularly interested in the dynamic exchange between artist and medium. She embraces both the deliberate and the unexpected, welcoming chance occurrences that bring new possibilities to the creative process.

The natural world serves as a central source of inspiration in her practice. She often begins a series with observation and sketching before setting the drawings aside, allowing the work to evolve intuitively through memory and emotion. 

Drawing plays a vital role in her process, providing a foundation for her paintings. It is this discipline that allows her to move beyond direct observation, creating work that is as much an expression of emotion, perception, and mood as it is an exploration of paint, colour, line, shape, and texture.
