Anna Findlay

Glass

Anna has been working with glass since the early 1990s when she took a course in the leaded stained glass method at Bristol's Queens Road School of Art and Design during a break from a career in social work. Later, after changing from leaded work to using the lighter weight and more easily transportable copper foil technique, and focusing on making smaller items suitable as inexpensive gifts, she returned to part-time social work related work, combining the two contrasting employments alongside each other. Over the years, Anna has sold her glasswork at retail outlets, galleries, craft fairs, markets and festivals, as well as the on-line makers' shop, Etsy. Recently, she has added art trails to this list.

Anna's work now consists largely of painted glass items, but she also uses stained glass as well as fusing glass in a tiny kiln for some of her jewellery.

Her glasswork reflects her love of bright, vibrant colour, pattern and detail. This is also evident in a very small selection of Indian miniature and botanical art inspired paintings she intends to exhibit with her glass.
