Susie Harvey grew up in Devon on the edge of Dartmoor and has always loved the moorlands and coasts of Devon and Cornwall. These places, along with Guernsey still provide much of the inspiration for her work.

She has always loved drawing, painting and creating, initially working mainly in textiles, and later moving to stained glass and silver-smithing. It was only after taking early retirement from teaching that she was able to pursue painting more seriously.
